ABOUT THE ARTIST

Kelechi Emeka-Okereke (b. 2000) is a Nigerian multidisciplinary artist who lives and works between Port Harcourt and Lagos, Nigeria. A prodigious talent, Okereke began creating art at the age of seven and later pursued formal training in civil engineering at the University of Port Harcourt, all while cultivating his artistic practice. Okereke’s distinctive artistic voice seamlessly blends abstraction, cubism, and portraiture to craft evocative narratives.
His works tries to merge the world of modern art and contemporary art. Drawing deeply from personal experiences, his work explores themes of identity, heritage, cultural preservation, and human connection. Through vibrant portraiture and expressive fashion-inspired compositions, he channels the warmth of nostalgia, capturing moments of joy and shared memory.
In November 2023, Okereke’s career gained global momentum after his work went viral on TikTok, leading to international recognition, acquisitions by collectors, and a surge in commissioned projects in Africa, Europe and America. Looking ahead, he aims to collaborate with global brands and galleries, further expanding his reach and influence.
