This painting draws from my 2000 naming ceremony and reflects the complex layers of my upbringing in a strict Christian Igbo household. It explores inherited faith, cultural conflict, and the quiet negotiations between personal freedom and family expectations.

Through symbolic elements, like my mother’s protective embrace, prayer warriors, and the Igbo fan. I unpack how religion, tradition, and creativity collide in shaping identity. This piece is a visual dialogue about choice, legacy, and becoming.
